This coming November I’m headed for the biggest travel event in the Earth, World Travel Market to London. There will be over 45,000 attendees in more than 190 nations in attendance. There will be tour companies, tourism boards, airlines, hotel groups, restaurant and travel bloggers such as myself. It is the chance to socialize with hundreds of people in the travel business and to create connections for the future.
The aim of my trip is to meet with tourism boards, hotel groups, airlines and travel bloggers. I have over a dozen appointments to talk about about visiting the destinations that they represent. My aim is to line up the next decade of my travels. Besides the appointments I have arranged, I will use my time between encounters to walk through the convention and introduce myself to many representatives.
I also have been invited to two occasions – a networking event with Travel Bloggers Unite and the Hostel Bookers Travel Bloggers awards. Both events will soon be filled!
Here Are a Few of my friends in the biz who I’m meeting up with: Marcello: Wandering Trader, David: GoBackpacking, Nellie: Wildjunket, Melvin: Travel Dudes, Ana: Mrs. O Around the Earth, and Gary: Everything Everywhere.
I believed it’d be a great idea to make a documentary-style video series about why World Travel Market is a MUST occasion for every travel business professional. The movies leading up to the excursion will highlight my own trainings. The first video I made is titled”Why World Travel Market?” It explains the reasons why I’m heading to London and a bit of information about myself to anybody who doesn’t know me.
About putting my calendar together for World Travel Market, the few movies will be. It’s easy: I need to awaken around 2:15 a.m. to get to the workplace by 3 a.m. so as to get in contact with all the Asia/Middle East/Africa and Europe tourism offices. For most nations in Asia, 3 Gamble Eastern Standard is just 3 p.m. their time.
On scheduling my days, From the first video , I take you on how to put this 21, to my world. I see that the hardest part is that many tourism boards do not speak English, which makes it difficult to set up meetings with a number of the nations.
I begin piecing the schedule together, as you see. After one night of cold calling, I managed to schedule my first day in WTM. Ever since that time, I’ve done.
Here is the second movie of my middle of the night calling, which has been likewise a terrific success!
What my schedule looks like right now (as of October 26th).
I making a more sleepy-eyed calls during the 3 weeks, and will be following up with tourism boards which have not reacted.
There will be a couple movies about scheduling my encounters, and following that I invite you to follow along with me. I reserved my flat with Wimdu, that saved me a chance in comparison to getting a resort. I’ll be getting travel bloggers and many tourism boards on cam to tell me a bit about themselves and why they have chosen to be in World Travel Market. I would like the series to demonstrate travel professionals that this is the occasion to attend to make contacts that are vital.
I’ll be submitting them to the post, as I make a lot of these videos. To get upgrades immediately please subscribe to my Youtube Channel. I know this is going to be an occasion that affects my life and takes my company to a new leadership for outside and 2013.
Thanks for taking the time to see this post. Join me on my mission to overcome World Travel Market 2012!
